In 2011, IBM launched the IBM Champions program for IBM Collaboration Solutions to recognize and reward 63 community members who contributed to organizing, answering, writing and fostering the Collaboration community as a whole. panagenda has always made it a habit to work with the best, brightest and most fun people, so it's no surprise to us that once again, two of our team members were recognized for the second time as IBM Champions.

Just last week, IBM and Joyce Davis officially announced at the ICS Commmunity call, that the next generation of 76 IBM champions includes two panagendians.

We would like to congratulate all the IBM Champions and especially our own Francie Tanner and Julian Robichaux!

1. What’s your name, position and location? And what exactly do you do?

2. When did you first start getting involved with technology?

I first got in touch with computers when I was about 10 or 12 years old. While a Sega MegaDrive brought me in touch with technology, my first "computer" was, soon after, a C64 and later an IBM 8086.


3. What do you consider the greatest invention EVER!?!?

I honestly cannot name a single thing that I would consider THE greatest invention, so I will name the achievements around "harnessing electricity for humandkind's use".


4. What’s one sure fire way to bring a smile to your face?

Spending time with friends and family

1. What’s your name, position and location? And what exactly do you do?

I'm Karin and I am part of the Vienna Backoffice team, usually supporting Sales. Most of you are in contact with me concerning maintenance renewals, quotes, payment reminders, etc. As you might have noticed, I am currently out of office, spending an exchange semester in Taiwan. Here I am studying at NCCU university, trying a lot of new dishes (yes, sometimes you don't really wanna know what it is), picking up a bit of Chinese and exploring the Ilha Formosa. Besides that I am still working a couple of hours per week on panagenda projects.


2. When did you first start getting involved with technology?

Well, it probably all started with the Gameboy of my neighbour when I was like 5... Tetris & Supermario!


3. What do you consider the greatest invention EVER!?!?

Besides chocolate and gummibears? Coffee makers.


4. What’s one sure fire way to bring a smile to your face?

The smell of coffee in the morning when I get up.

If you've ever had to deal with old deletion stubs getting replicated back into your IBM Lotus Notes Domino environment, then you know how difficult that can be to deal with. Having old data "come back to life" can be especially challenging when it happens to your Domino Directory, aka the brain of the Domino operation. Old deletions can replicate back into the environment when a database is not frequently replicated, usually longer than 30 days, after which deletion stubs are purged. Once those deletion stubs are gone, the server treats those previously removed documents as new records, thereby causing a huge mess of duplicate entries, server and access failures.

panagenda MarvelClient has always been able to ensure that deletion stubs don't replicate back into the environment, but now there is also a native, simple advanced database property setting can save you from having to deal with this serious headache! All you need to do is go to your 8.5.3 IBM Lotus Notes Administrator clients, advanced database property and turn this on on all databases you think need Purge Interval Replication Control (PIRC).

1. What’s your name, position and location? And what exactly do you do?

My name is Arne Bergmann. I am panagenda´s Chief Sales Officer, responsible for worldwide sales and business development. I am located in the sunny south western part of Germany which is best known for its superb wines.


2. When did you first start getting involved with technology?

I was always fascinated by computer software but it took until 1994 to buy my first PC when I needed it for university.


3. What do you consider the greatest invention EVER!?!?

Using a firestone or else to start a fire whenever you want or need one. It keeps you warm, is good to watch and yummie... don´t forget the steaks.


4. What’s one sure fire way to bring a smile to your face?

My cats. Best when face and ears are covered with dairy yoghurt after they finally got their head out of the yoghurt pot again :-)

...it´s a big family and every panagendian is a super hero in his/her field of activity.
