Welcome to my series #panagendaPride published every second Friday to feature members of our team that despite their highly professional demeanor also have awesome personalities. Today it is my pleasure to introduce Luis to you!
What’s your name and what exactly do you do with panagenda?
My name is Luis Suarez and I work at panagenda as a Digital Transformation & Data Analytics adviser. I help organisations make the most out of their own change initiatives and digital transformation programmes (including Social Business) through making sense of the data they produce on a daily basis.
What’s the last thing you watched on TV and why did you choose to watch it?
Game of Thrones. Everyone out there who has been watching this epic TV series would know and understand why. I have watched every single episode right from the first season and I’m totally hooked up with it, to the point where every week I watch each episode twice: at 2am on Monday mornings, in order to avoid the inevitable spoilers through media tools coming throughout the day, and on Monday evenings where I pay more attention into the details of what’s happening after being wowed left and right from the first pass. Dracarys! 🐉
You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?
Blue. By far, my favourite colour from all along. Those who know me, personally, would tell you I bleed blue and for multiple reasons (I will leave it down to our readers to figure out which ones! heh), but, specially, over the course of the last 13 years because of where I live: Gran Canaria 😀 (Hint: http://www.instagram.com/elsua9 would explain further what I mean …)
What’s one sure fire way to bring a smile to your face?
Every time I meet up with good friends for lunch / dinner or just a couple of drinks where the conversations are brilliant, the food is just gorgeous, and we all get to treasure those gatherings right in the moment. Time slows down showing you the true meaning of ‘carpe diem’. Smiles all around. Yes, I know, I am both a foodie and a conversationalist in equal terms!
What’s your favorite ’90s jam?
I grew up with music from the 80s, so I guess I am an 80s boy, but since you are asking me about the 90s I think I’d go for ‘Losing My Religion’ by R.E.M. One of my all time favourite tracks regardless of the decade.
Teach me something I don’t know in one sentence.
Life is just too short, so try to make the most out of it while you can! Oooh, and wear sunscreen! (Hint: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xavFb4WH7o0)
If you woke up and had 2,000 unread emails and could only answer 300 of them, how would you choose which ones to answer?
Well, still going strong with the true spirit of a huge #noemail fan, I’d do something different than selecting 300 to answer. I would essentially create a temporary folder where I will dump them all, wait for two weeks, and only respond to those who come back to me again, which is usually a handful between 3 to 5. The rest? I would then delete the folder and the remaining 2000 emails with it. And continue to do my work. Easy peasy. It works every single time, if not, try it yourselves and tell me in the comments below what your experience has been …
Who is your childhood hero and why?
Earvin “Magic” Johnson. I have been playing basketball for more than half of my life, and while I no longer play it, I still love the game. Magic showed the entire world you could play ball and write poetry in motion, up in the air, at the same time. Showtime, anyone?
What do you consider the greatest invention EVER!?!?
The iPhone. Why? Well, because, for the first time ever, it’s helped me appreciate technology for what it is: a tool, a key enabler, that just works, to help me achieve something rather meaningful, i.e. reach out and connect with a world of really smart and incredibly awesome people regardless of wherever or whenever they may well be.
Who would win in the battle: Gandalf vs Dumbledore and why?
Gandalf, without a single doubt! He’s got some pretty serious skills on how to get the most out of a walking stick to do magic!
