in Blog, panagenda Team

Welcome to the very last installment of my series #panagendaPride. Alas it is 2018 and “new year, new me” and so forth.

The hope of this series was to feature members of our team that despite their highly professional demeanour also have awesome personalities. Although I wasn’t able to feature every member of our fabulous team due to time restraints, privacy preferences etc., I think most of our followers now have a good idea of who we are and who stands behind our product portfolio.

Today I will sadly end this series by telling you a little about myself. I know it’s a deeply moving moment realising that you won’t be seeing our pretty faces every second Friday. But do not fret, this autointerview actually marks the transition to the new series “DeskTales“, which I will kick off next week – you know, leading by example and all 🙂

  1. What’s your name and what exactly do you do with panagenda?

The birth certificate says Daniel but Mum always called me Danny – unless I was in trouble. As such I don’t really respond to Daniel… I first joined panagenda as a freelance translator. Later I was offered a part-time position as Social Media Strategist. Now I work full-time as Inbound Marketing Coordinator. As the title suggests, I am part of the marketing team along with my awesome colleagues Katrin, Lukas and Rene. My responsibilities include generating content for the website, managing the panagenda Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Google+ accounts and most recently developing and coordinating a sustainable webinar system. A personal thanks at this point to all followers of our accounts and webinar attendees! You’ve been great and I’d love to get your feedback of things you’d like to see implemented in any of these channels.

  2. What’s the last thing you watched on TV and why did you choose to watch it?

That was last weekend when I was channel surfing and stumbled upon the 1996 movie “Sleepers” with a young Brad Pitt, Robert De Niro and Kevin Bacon. As I live in Vienna, the movie was dubbed into German. As I prefer watching movies in their original versions, I quickly found it in English and started again from the beginning. In any case, if you haven’t seen it, I can definitely recommend it.

  3. What’s one sure fire way to bring a smile to your face?

When I see people helping one another. Even a small gesture will suffice. Asking someone looking at a train timetable if they need directions to reach their destination for example. Lending a hand with shopping bags when someone is struggling up the stairs. These gestures make me reflect on my actions toward others. It’s these small things that remind me, that people at their core are good 🙂

  4. What were you like in high school?

Having migrated from Austria to Australia at the age of ten, I was quite introverted due to the extreme cultural differences. After some years, I learned the lay of the land and nobody even realised that I was from outside Australia. It wasn’t till my final semesters of university and especially during my exchange semester in Sweden, that I really broke out of my shell. Living by the motto “Memento Audere Semper” I now try to step out of my comfort zone and take on new challenges as often as possible.

  5. What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?

My cousin married recently inviting 100+ guests. Individual people were given rolls to act out in a story telling game. Both my brothers and I were given the roll of airport police. Whenever the police was mentioned in the story, which was often, we had to stand up from our seats at the table, spin our finger above our heads, turn around on the spot and loudly mimic a police siren. Even though it wasn’t acting per say, I was told not to quit my day job… Lucky thing I have a great job 😉
