That was engage 2019

It only seems like yesterday that we bid each other farewell on the SS Rotterdam. A venue that Luis Suarez described as the BEST engage venue yet, in his summary of engage 2018! Sticking to mobility apparatuses, the venue for engage 2019 will be an experience in itself. Although feet did not leave the land this year, the minds sure did wander at Autoworld in Brussels.

Engage 2019 was sort of liberation, says CEO Florian Vogler in his interview wrapping up day 2 of the conference. “Getting rid of the backpack of the past.” No more Domino vs. Microsoft. Instead, levering resources to the greatest extent. This mentality was only echoed by the conversations Luis Suarez had with customers who are all too eager to push forward the transformation process in a natural and collaborative way. Even if you didn’t have the opportunity to attend engage 2019, the willingness for the community to help is there.

You can start by simply reaching out to us if you want to find out about the future of Notes/Domino, what’s happening on iPad or with Sametime, what’s the overall strategy to everyone pulling on the same string. Should there be something that we don’t know the answer to, we’ll connect you with someone that does. The caliber engage 2019 has reached over the years is so incredible that Arne Bergmann even dares to speculate that it could go even a step further to become THE European event for IBM and HCL related products. Needless to say, we’re overjoyed to be a part of this journey to drive change are looking forward to seeing what’s around the next corner (all puns intended). See what they and the other panagendians who attended engage have to say in the videos segmented by days below.

How Data Analytics Can Help Influence Systems Change

Nowadays businesses demand to have more and more personalised data analytics of how their knowledge practitioners utilise efficiently their Enterprise Social Networking platforms whether on an individual or team level. However, in order to effect a major shift of how we connect, learn, share, collaborate and get work done more effectively in a more open, collaborative and transparent manner, the reality is that it’s never been about personal change, but systems change.

To that extent, WHAT IF we have been approaching data analytics wrong right from the very beginning? WHAT IF we’d shift away from that gluttonous appetite for ego-centric, vanity-driven personal metrics dashboards and instead we’d focus on systems change analytics? Do we want to keep on putting more lipstick on the pig? After all, you know, it’d still be a pig!
Or do we want to influence user behaviour via systems change analytics while we help redefine the #PresentOfWork through our various different (social) collaborative platforms? Can we eradicate that toxic culture and, instead, focus on systems change? Time to step up & take action!

Social – the hype may be over but the potential value is greater than ever!

Join Stuart & Femke in a lively discussion, based on years of practical experience, on why the vision and technologies of the Social Enterprise are more important than ever.
The Social hype cycle may have died down, but the impact of organisations being transformed via online communities and collaboration platforms is real!
Attend this session and hear how Connections and similar technologies can help make the difference for your organisation. Take part in the discussion and ask your questions of the speakers.

Themes will include:

  • The role of communities versus team/group chats
  • Persistent versus ephemeral collaboration
  • Top-down versus bottom-up approaches
  • Is the Intranet dead, or does it live on in online community platforms?
5 Steps to Help Launch Your Online Community Building Programme

With the emergence of Enterprise Social Networking platforms, communities are the new operating model within organisations. They’re the major key accelerators of effective change & transformation initiatives. Yet very few businesses have got successful online community building programmes in place. For most the old adage ‘build it and they will come’ would still apply hoping once they have got the technology in place communities will *just* flourish ‘on their own’. Alas, reality shows us that’s never been the case.
Join us to learn plenty more about the actual Community Building Programme framework that’s been running rather successfully some of the oldest online communities at IBM over the course of the last 22 years and still going strong.
