New Feature

License Management

Leveraging Data Analytics to Optimize License Management for Microsoft 365 has been one of the key elements of this OfficeExpert release. With the Introduction of the Power BI License Chargeback report in the previous version we have now included all its elements right into the UI of OfficeExpert. Because of that, OE can now perform analytical calculations across the data set.

It now provides insights of your Microsoft 365 licensing structure and its savings potential (combined with usage data and the background intelligence of OfficeExpert)

Read one of our recent blog post to learn more about it:  leveraging data analytics

The Overall page is the starting point and depicts the full inventory of subscriptions or service plans you have in your tenant. Drill down capabilities on Department and Country level are offered on that page as well.

The second page is called Cost Savings and provides you with three unique views.
The first view is the perspective in terms of Inactive Users. So how many licenses i can free up because users have not used them for more than half a year.
The Second view covers Overlapping or Redundant Licenses on the user Level. You see at a glance which licenses you can un-assign from a user.
The last view provides valuable insight into disabled users who still have licenses assigned.

In order to allow OfficeExpert delivering a general idea of your saving potential, you are required to populate and/or adjust the pricing table. Just enter your license price tag for each subscription and you are ready to go. To use this feature right away, panagenda will provide an example price estimate for many products.

One of the actions enabled through License Analysis is an Adaptive Card Notification which is directly delivered in MS Teams:

New Feature

Usage Comparison between Workloads

The Level of Engagement Page got two additional elements when it comes to cross workload comparisons. Working Smarter area provides you know with two new tabs.

Skype vs. Teams

This tab provides an important view of all the Skype activity with all the Teams activity. This is especially important if an organization transitions from Skype for Business towards MS Teams.
This features allows to see at a glance which organizational units are already full on-boarded in Teams vs. who are not.

OneDrive vs. SharePoint

This tab is very similar to what is provided with the previous tab, however the use case is a completely different one.
Comparing OneDrive with SharePoint is important with regard to the questions "Are my user collaborating in a open way (via sharepoint/teams)?" or "Are they sharing a lot of files across individual OneDrive data silos?"
This view further enables the user to drill down onto an organizational level to identify more isolated "silos".

New Feature

Trigger Actions as Adaptive Cards to MS Teams

With this version we introduce several new action types which make the entire software solution more actionable for the users.
Through Adaptive Cards Actions you can now push content from OfficeExpert directly into MS Teams:

Simply paste the Adaptive Card JSON content from the MS Card Designer into the designated editor in OE and you are just ready to go.

Note: this requires that ACE Bots deployed on the end user side

New Feature

Trigger Web API Action

Second new action is the so called Web API. As the title implies, you can trigger a REST API call against any endpoint.

New Feature

Trigger Executable Action

And last but not least, one can now trigger also executables. An example use case could be, triggering a Python script which fires against the servicenow endpint.

Azure Users - All Attributes

All available Azure AD users attributes are now collected and can be used via DataMiner or Metabase to segment the data.

Azure Groups - All Attributes

All available Azure AD groups attributes are now collected and can be used via DataMiner or Metabase to segment the data.
No matter if it is a Office 365-, security- or distribution group.

OfficeExpert - New Logo and Coloring Scheme

OfficeExpert is now "blue". It now fits better into the panagenda product family from a coloring scheme point of view.

Automatic Adjustments of the System Configuration

Several improvements have been made in the background of the appliance. One is for instance that system settings for backend components get automatically re-adjusted if more system memory is available.

OfficeExpert Power BI Template - Usage Analytics

Usage Analytics

The PowerBI content pack includes now a weekly version of the usage analytics data set: OfficeExpert_v3.2.0_Usage Analytics Report_weekly.pbit.
So instead of a daily aggregated view you can now use a weekly one.

This new report is faster compared to the other one because less data has to be pulled into PowerBI.
