Obfuscation of user profiles in ConnectionsExpert is controlled by the license key. This enables us to guarantee that country- or region-specific data protection regulations (e.g. GDPR) can be fulfilled from the beginning.

In general it is possible to deactivate or activate obfuscation at a later point in time. In this case, historical data is processed as follows:

• Obfuscation is activated: Obfuscation is also applied to historical data in the ConnectionsExpert data warehouse.
• Obfuscation is deactivated: Historical data remain unchanged. As soon as obfuscation is deactivated in the ConnectionExpert license, user profiles are no longer obfuscated.

How obfuscation is handled for deactivated or deleted IBM Connections users

If IBM Connections users are deactivated or deleted from the underlying database, the user's activities remain in the ConnectionsExpert data warehouse. All fields with personally identifiable information are obfuscated historically.
