Our web analytics provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”; 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) is based on the US-EU data security agreement “Privacy Shield”, with a commitment to complying with EU data protection requirements (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active). Data processing is based on the legal regulations of the § 96 Abs 3 TKG as well as the Art 6 Abs 1 a) (consent) and/or f (legitimate interest) of the GDPR. Our concern in relation to the GDPR (legitimate interest) is the improvement of our offerings and our website. As the privacy of our users is important to us, the user data is pseudonymized. The user data is kept for a period of 26 months.
IP anonymization is activated on this website, so Google will truncate/anonymize the last octet of the IP address for Member States of the European Union as well as for other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address sent to and shortened by Google servers in the USA. On behalf of the website provider, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website provider. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.
- Google Analytics:
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service. Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.
You can refuse the use of Google Analytics by clicking on the link below. An opt-out cookie will be set on the computer, which prevents the future collection of your data when visiting this website: Disable Google Analytics
Further information concerning the terms and conditions of use and data privacy can be found at http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/gb.html and at http://www.google.de/intl/en_uk/policies/. Please note that on this website, Google Analytics code is supplemented by “gat._anonymizeIp();” to ensure an anonymized collection of IP addresses (so called IP-masking).
- Google Remarketing:
- Google Ads:
Another marketing service we use is the online advertising program, Google Ads. In the case of Google Ads, each customer receives a different conversion cookie. Cookies cannot be used to track customer activity on third party websites. The information collected by the cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for customers who have opted for conversion tracking. For Google Ad customers we see the total number of users who clicked on an ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, no information that identifies users personally is available. Google services make use of Google’s Tag Manager. For more information about Google’s use of data for marketing purposes, please see the summary page: https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads. If you wish to object to interest-based advertising by Google marketing services, you can do so using the settings and opt-out options provided by Google: http://www.google.com/ads/preferences.
We and all marketing providers we use also embed web beacons in our marketing emails or on our website. Web beacons are small GIF image files which enable us to track your receipt of our marketing emails, how often you view our adverts or website pages, your location, IP address and browser information. Web beacons are activated whenever you open a marketing email or access a page on our website which contains a web beacon. Web beacons transmit data when you view them but are not capable of accessing any other information on your computer. Web beacons are not stored on your hard drive unless you download a GIF image containing them.
Some (but not all) browsers enable you to restrict the use of web beacons by either preventing them from sending information back to their source (for example, when you choose browser settings that block cookies and trackers), or by not accessing the images containing them (for example, if you select a “do not display images (in emails)” setting in your email server).
The legal basis to process the information we gather from the use of web beacons is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation) to analyzing the effectiveness of our email marketing campaigns or for our website.
