Some time ago now, HCL has quietly made it possible to once again use NSL (“Notes Shared Login”) with HCL Notes clients running on Citrix or VDI.
How to enable it
It is very straightforward. All you need to do is set the following notes.ini parameter for the Citrix users:
If you want to have the resulting BIN-File in %AppData% instead of %LocalAppData%, you need to use the following additional notes.ini parameter:
This would change the path from “C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Local\HCL\Notes” to“C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\HCL\Notes”
Don’t forget to also use the notes.ini setting OS_DisableMMapFileCopy=1 if a fileserver is involved here.
Be careful if you enable NSL when roaming. The ID-files will be converted to NSL and will no longer work with older clients that don’t support NSL.
How does NSL work together with MarvelClient Roaming?
The short answer to this question is: Perfectly!
You only need to add the *.bin files into the MarvelClient roaming set in your Backup and Roaming actions, as shown below.
And that’s it 🙂
Daniel Nashed published this topic in his blog too, have a look here to get more info:
