Don’t be scared, the steps are very simple, and boil down to this:

  1. Open the MarvelClient Essentials installer. You can find it on your Domino server in the “panagenda” directory. Can’t find it? No worries, just switch to the “Download” tab above and download the latest installer here.​
  2. Follow the instructions presented to install the two MarvelClient databases on your server.
  3. Activate MarvelClient Essentials on your clients. The newer the client the easier it gets – in Notes/Domino 12 you only need to enable a setting in the server’s Directory Profile. Nomad will automatically work in a default setup.
  4. Enjoy!

How do I get started?

If you have Domino 10.0.1 or higher:
You locate the MarvelClient Installer database on your Domino server (found in the panagenda directory on any Domino server). You open it and follow the wizard to install the two MarvelClient databases on your servers. Then you centrally activate the already included client component of Essentials for all desired Notes clients.

If you have Domino 10.0.0 or lower:
You download the MarvelClient Installer database from this page. You open it and follow the wizard to install the two MarvelClient databases on your servers. Then you deploy the client component of Essentials to your Notes clients. You can do this with the built-in functionality in your MarvelClient Config database, or you can use your own software deployment.

What do I need to download?

That depends on your Domino version.

Starting with Domino 10.0.1, the MarvelClient Installer database is included and can be found in the panagenda directory on your server. For earlier versions of Domino you need to download the Installer database from panagenda (scroll up on this page to get to the download).

The installer has everything you need (templates for the MarvelClient databases and the client components for your Notes clients).

What are the system requirements?

Detailed requirements for your version can be found in our release notes.

But roughly speaking, MarvelClient Essentials supports Nomad, HCL Notes 6 and later, works on any Domino version, and supports all operating systems that are also supported by HCL.

Can I upgrade to a paid edition of MarvelClient?

Yes, very easily! After purchase, you will get a license key. In your MarvelClient Config database you go to the OnlineUpdate form and enter this key. Then you run an OnlineUpdate, activate the new client component, and you are done!

How does MarvelClient Essentials compare to other editions?

Essentials is a stripped down version of MarvelClient Basic, and offers a good foundation of functionality to analyze and configure your Notes Clients. It is great to get a complete client inventory (desktop, bookmarks, notes.ini, mailfile details, Notes version and installation) to identify issues and solve them (notes.ini settings, user preferences, etc).
